John Deere has also increased filter performance on new equipment because of concerns about fuel contaminants. While investigating fuel injector problems, field service representative Greg Clampitt, from Deere''s Waterloo, Iowa, Engine Works, discovered good reason for that concern.Clampitt used fuel testing equipment on tractors operating in several states. The equipment counted particles as small as 2 microns both before and after the fuel filtration system (see chart below).Surprising results"The results were surprising, and we think they relate to fuel storage and handling," says Clampitt. "We tested tractors in Texas and, on average, found 25 times more particles in the 2-to 5-micron size range than on tractors tested in Iowa. There were 40 times more particles from 5 to 15 microns in size in Texas. Results from tests on tractors in Arizona and California fell between the Texas and Iowa findings. Retailer Augments Larger Supply Chain Initiative with Market Leader''s Vendor Enablement geartekhydraulicpumps and Management ProgramSPS Commerce, the leading supply chain integration service provider, today announced an agreement with Northern Tool to provide the prominent mid-west multi-channel supplier of high quality products to do-it-yourselfers and businesses with its hosted supply chain services. A diesel-powered, high-pressure air compressor is rated at 1,100 cfm and has a pressure range from 150 to 350 psi. The self-contained, 100% oil-free compressor has a "save all" base that eliminates fuel spills and oil leaks, making it one of the most environmentally friendly high-pressure units available. The diesel-driven engine stays well within the boundaries of the EPA and CARB emissions regulations. A complete line of accessories for the compressor is also geartekhydraulicpumps available, ranging from aftercoolers to --40[degrees]F desiccant dryers and filters. Air compressor manufacturer, P.K. Lindsay, Deerfield, N.H., has been sold to American Eagle Accessories Group, Garner, la., a division of Stellar Industries Inc. The Lindsay air compressors are sold under the Lindsay and E.L. Smith brand names. All Lindsay compressor assets have been moved to American Eagle''s Garner plant and resumed full production. American Eagle is also a distributor of various truck-related accessories. geartekhydraulicpumps According to the company, the FRL series of compressed air filters, regulators, lubricators, and manual control valves provides efficient moisture and contaminant removal, accurate pressure regulation, geartekhydraulicpumps and precision lubrication for all air-operated equipment applications. All of the components in the series are available individually geartekhydraulicpumps or in combination units. According to the company, its compressed-air productivity tools cut energy costs by as much as 70%, while reducing the compressor burden and shop noise levels. A 24-pg application manual shows bow these accessories provide solutions to spot chilling (to -40[degrees]F), dry machining, blow-off, control cooling, air conveying, static, liquid transfer, and spill pick-up. The products meet OSHA noise and dead-end pressure requirements. Welding shops require many types of equipment, including power supplies, guns, torches, wire feeders, flux-handling devices, and accessories such as cables and ground clamps, as well as consumables-filler metals, fluxes, and shielding gases. For brazing, shops employ furnaces and custom-built fixtures.
